Technical characteristics
and alignment plan
The highway design covers two sections: section I in a length of 67.7 km and section II in a length of about 36 km, both with two lanes 3.75 m wide and a stopping lane of 2.50 m. The traffic lanes are separated by a 4-meter central reservation, and the entire alignment is coordinated with traffic signals. The calculated permissible speed is 130 km/h, and 7 interchanges, 4 bridges of large static spans and lengths and a large number of overpasses, underpasses and culverts were designed as part of the highway. Two parking lots and rest areas are planned on both sides along the highway.

Long-term plans and
project objectives
The Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway designing has begun following the long-term plans for the traffic infrastructure improvement in the country. One of the main goals is to reduce travel time between Belgrade and Novi Sad, the two economic centers of the country, as well as connecting other settlements along the corridor. In addition, the highway plays a key role in connecting the main industrial and trade zones, which contributes to accelerating economic growth, reducing congestion on existing roads, as well as better connection with neighboring countries.

Social importance of
future development
This highway is also of strategic importance for citizens, as it enables a safer and more comfortable way of traveling, reduces the risk of traffic accidents and contributes to improving the quality of life. In addition, this new traffic artery also contributes to the development of tourism, as it facilitates access to popular destinations in Serbia, such as Novi Sad, which hosts numerous cultural and tourist events. In the future, the Belgrade-Zrenjanin-Novi Sad highway will serve as a foundation for the continued development of traffic infrastructure in Serbia. It is expected that this highway's connection with other corridors, both within the country and across the region, will significantly enhance economic integration. This project is not just a design endeavour, but also a symbol of the modernization and progress of Serbia in the field of traffic, infrastructure and economy.
